Our hearts are full to bursting after our 2022 Day of Remembrance Artists Showcase, which took place on Zoom on February 18, 2022. We are grateful to our featured artists, Maggie Tokuda-Hall, Kristen Murakoshi, and Sam Nakahira. Through literature, photography, and comic arts, each artist modeled how to bring alive history, connect to place, uplift family stories, and challenge power structures.
Thank you to all who joined us, from D.C., L.A., Del Rey, Seattle, Gardena, Fresno, St. Louis, Oakland, Boulder, and so many more places from across the country! With over 125 people in attendance, we felt the connection of remembrance and a shared inspiration to carry on family stories of the lasting impact of the WWII American concentration camps. Thanks to all who shared the space with us, and filling our circle with the names of those we held in remembrance that evening.
