The Yonsei Memory Project is striving to make our website, events, and special "Days of Remembrance" gatherings accessible to as many communities as possible. Please read the below information for directions and details on access and participation. Please feel free to contact Brynn or Nikiko at any time with feedback or questions!

Walking tour: Sat, Feb 17, 9:30-11am

On Saturday morning, we will join Fresno Mindfulness Walks for a walking tour of downtown Fresno. This is medium-paced, 2.5-mile walk through public spaces will begin at Central Fish (1535 Kern St., Fresno), then explore sites such as the downtown Fresno Buddhist Temple and Kogetsu-Do. Most of the walk is on even, wheelchair-accessible sidewalks, though there is some uneven pavement, areas of minor street construction, and train tracks. To discuss accessibility questions, please contact us!

Memory Bus tour: Sat, feb 17, 1-3:30pm

We have chartered a bus that will meet participants in the back parking lot of the United Japanese Christian Church (136 N. Villa Ave, Clovis). Though the bus will not be accessible for wheelchair-users, you are welcome to join the tour in your own vehicle. Please plan on meeting us at UJCC at 1pm. Once boarded, the YMP tour will visit the Pinedale Assembly Center Memorial and Simonian Farms, both of which are accessible for wheelchair-users. We will have speakers and a microphone on the bus to amplify our presentations about the memorial sites. Please contact us if you have any questions about accessibility!

Fresno fairgrounds: Mon, Feb 19, 10am-noon

The Assembly Center Memorial at the Fresno Fairgrounds is accessible to wheelchair-users, and there will be appropriate parking spots available in the Chance parking lot near the Chance Avenue Gate at the Fairgrounds. A sound system will amplify speakers during the event. Please contact us if you have any questions about accessibility!
